VPI Volunteers for VECCS Foundation

Every year, during the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium (IVECCS) Conference, the Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Society (VECCS) Foundation chooses a local animal shelter to contribute to via volunteer help and assistance with equipment purchases. At the 2012 IVECCS Conference in San Antonio, VPI employees volunteered at the Animal Defense League. Over the course of the day, the volunteers built a new play yard, moved loads of dirt and laid two pallets of sod, while also assisting with the purchase of the materials used to renovate the yard.

Volunteering was so rewarding and successful last year that VPI was eager to contribute again this year at the IVECCS Conference in San Diego in early September. This year, Holly’s Garden in El Cajon, Calif., was the local animal shelter chosen by the VECCS Foundation. VPI is pleased to have purchased the sod to rehabilitate the play yard and VPI team members Julie Black and Samantha Ratty are among the 22 volunteers painting, planting and cleaning up the yard.

Below are photos of the new and improved Holly’s Garden play yard.
